It was founded in the realization that students—future media practitioners—play a very important role in the development of the nation, in contributing to good governance through the pursuit of excellence and passion for growth in the study and practice of communication. Hence, UP-CGG’s members realize that they are called to adhere to the strictest standards of professionalism, excellence, and ethics.

The members of UP-CGG live these values by being aware of important social issues and concerns, and proactively honing their craft, and creatively looking for ways for learning and serving people, primarily through mass media. The organization has become a breeding ground for future media practitioners, who take initiative, take lead, and contribute to nation-building.
