U.P. Mass Communicators Organization (UP-MCO)
Basic Info
Write-up
UP Mass Communicators Organization (UP-MCO) is a university-wide academic association of more than thirty students committed to the promotion and responsible use of media as a profession and as a phenomenon. Founded in 1993 by a block of fervent mass communication freshmen, UP-MCO has proven itself to be one of the most active organizations in the university that advocates the formation of responsible media practitioners through awareness and education.
In recognition to its exemplary performance, the organization has been nominated twice as Best Student Organization in the university and so far the only one in the College of Mass Communication to cop the top rank in the highly-coveted Freshmen Orientation Program Committee (FOPC).
At present, UP-MCO is supervised by the ever-supportive and dynamic faculty adviser Prof. Josefina Santos.
Typical MCOers are sketched as shiny and happy people, sometimes loud but never muted by the pressures around them. The organization sees to it that every member is given the chance to make the most of his/her potential by involving the individual in every activity of the org, be it a skill-training activity or a simple talent showcase.
